Es el resultado de los 20 retratos realizados y expuestos en The Culture Box durante la semana pasada. 

Here you have the photographic collage made by the photographer Ana Dorado, she also participated as an ES-patriada portrayed in the exhibition.

It is the result of the 20 portraits that have been made and shown in The Culture Box during the last week.

HOY ES EL GRAN DÍA / TODAY IS THE BIG DAY ES-PATRIADOS

Hoy es la inauguración de la Exposición de ES-PATRIADOS en The Culture Box a las 19:30h. Han sido muchos meses de trabajo y colaboración; un trabajo en el que los protagonistas siempre habeis sido vosotros, los ESpatriados. 

Como fruto de este trabajo, fruto de vuestras vidas, hoy tenemos esta exposición que esperamos sea la primera de muchas otras donde seguir mostrando nuestra/vuestra realidad desde un punto de vista pictórico. Porque no somos un número, tenemos nombre y apellidos, familia, pareja y amigos que hemos dejado atrás. A veces porque hemos querido y otras veces porque no hemos encontrado otra vía.

Esperamos que hoy podais disfrutar y sentiros identificados con el Proyecto ESpatriados. Os esperamos allí. Muchas gracias a todos por vuestro apoyo.

Today is the opening of the ES-PATRIADOS Exhibition in The Culture Box at 19:30 h. It has been many months of work and collaboration; a work where the main characters had been all of you, the ESpatriados. 

As result of this work, result of your lives, today we have this exhibition we hope will be the first of many where we can continue to show our/your reality from a pictorial point of view. Because we are not just a number, we have name and surnames, families, partners and friends that we have left behind. Sometimes because we have wanted and sometimes because we have not found another way. 

We hope you can enjoy and feel identified with ESpatriados Project. We hope to see you there. Thank you very much to everybody for your support.

ES-PATRIADOS

ESpatriados ha estado trabajando con la Comisaria de la Exposición. Ha sido una larga entrevista en la cuál hemos disfrutado mucho y pronto podremos compartir con vosotros.

¿QUIÉN ES LA COMISARIA DE LA EXPOSICIÓN ES-PATRIADOS?

Ana Ruano

Es de San Pedro de Alcántara (Málaga) y es Florentina de corazón y afincada temporalmente en Kilkenny. 

Graduada en Historia del Arte. Su interés por la Museografía y el Comisariado de Exposiciones la ha hecho formarse en este ámbito.

ESpatriados has been working with the Commissioner of the Exhibition. It was a long interview in which we really enjoyed. We will be able to share with you soon.

WHO IS THE COMMISSIONER OF ES-PATRIADOS EXHIBITION? 

Ana Ruano

She is from San Pedro de Alcántara (Málaga) and has a Florentine heart; she is settling in Kilkenny at the moment.

She is Graduated in Art History. Her interested in Museology and as Commissioners of the Exhibition has led her to study these subjects.

PROYECTO ES-PATRIADOS

Exposición artística de retratos e historias de emigrantes españoles en Dublín.

Art exhibition (portraits and life stories) of Spanish emigrants in Dublin.

¡Vamos a hacer arte juntos!

Nos dirigimos a ti con la ilusión de llevar a cabo una exposición artística en la que reflejaremos una realidad que afecta a gran parte de los jóvenes españoles: la emigración.

La desesperación ante la falta de oportunidades laborales, la búsqueda de un futuro mejor y la situación política de nuestro país han empujado y siguen empujando a miles de jóvenes al exilio. Queremos plasmar esta realidad en arte, y para eso necesitamos tu ayuda.

Las artistas, Isabel y Marta, retratarán a varios jóvenes españoles emigrados a Dublín y expondrán los retratos junto con sus historias personales. (La exposición tendrá lugar en la sala Culture Box de Temple Bar, Dublín, a partir del 25 de junio de 2014 y durante 3 días).

Hemos calculado un presupuesto de 600 euros que se destinará íntegramente  cubrir los gastos de este proyecto, tales como material artístico (pinceles, papel, pintura, etc.), la comisión de la sala de exposiciones y los gastos de difusión (flyers, tarjetas de visita) y de esta campaña.

Toda aportación es bienvenida, 2 €, 5 €, 10 €… ¡o más si puedes! Y si no puedes colaborar con dinero, ayúdanos dándole difusión a esta campaña en las redes sociales, entre tus amigos... Si no llegásemos a los 650, el importe que se recaude se destinará a cubrir parte de los gastos.

TRABAJANDO EN LOS RETRATOS / WE ARE WORKING IN PORTRAITS

Llevamos varias semanas reuniendonos con vosotros, ESpatriados. Estamos disfrutando mucho de las sesiones fotográficas y del trabajo que estamos haciendo.

Estamos en la recta final, pero aun puedes participar. Vamos a seguir recibiendo y leyendo vuestras historias en Irlanda. Continuaremos llamandoos y haciendo fotos. Recordad que con las fichas de los participantes se hará un fichero que también se mostrará en la exposición, y luego creamos un retrato realista único que más tarde mostraremos en la Exposición ESpatriados.

We are spending several weeks by meeting with you: ESpatriados. We are enjoying photo sessions and the paintings we are making a lot.

We are in the final stretch, but you can still participate. We will continue receiving and reading your stories in Ireland. We continue calling you and taking photos. Remember that The Archive will be on display for visitors to view, and then, from this archive the artists will paint a portrait inspired by their stories. These portraits will be displayed in ESpatriados Exhibition.

¿Quién es David Ortega Baglietto? / Who is David Ortega Baglietto?

Soy unos de los colaboradores del Proyecto ESpatriados. Soy de Barcelona. Comencé realizando fotografías deportivas, me apasiona el paisaje y el retrato; últimamente experimento con la fotografía y el video realizando trabajos de carácter social/documental colaborando activamente con diferentes colectivos: CVI (Comunidad Venezolana en Irlanda) y con la Marea Granate en Dublín.

I was a trained as a sport photografer but recently I became more passioned about landscape and portrait photography.; recently I'm experimenting with social photography and video actively collaborating with different groups: CVI (Venezuelan Community in Ireland) and the Garnet Tide in Dublin.

¿Por qué vinisteis a Dublín? / Why did you come to Dublin?

Dublín parecía ser un buen lugar para vivir y más económico que otras ciudades. Me vine para mejorar mi ingles ya que considero que es importante dominarlo. Además estoy aquí para trabajar durante una temporada hasta que la economía y la vida mejore en España.

Dublín seemed to be good place to live and cheaper than others cities. I came to improve my English because I think is very important to have a good knowledge of the English language. I also came here to work for a while in the hope that the economic and living condition improve again in Spain.

COORDINADORAS / EVENT MANAGER ESpatriados

¿Quiénes son las coodinadoras de ESpatriados? / Who are ESpatriados's event managers?

Marta procedente de Zaragoza. Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Zaragoza, facultad de Teruel. Realicé la beca Erasmus en Turquía. Involucrada en organizaciones y proyectos como voluntaria en diferentes puntos y momentos (Teruel, Zaragoza, Serbia), intento unir mi pasión, el arte, con las causas sociales. Desde que acabé la licenciatura realizo proyectos de diseño gráfico como freelance.

Marta from Zaragoza. Bachelor degree in Fine Arts by the College of Teruel (University of Zaragoza), I spent my Erasmus in Turkey. I have been involved in volunteer projects at different times in my life in different places (Teruel, Zaragoza, Serbia…), always trying to merge art –my passion– with social causes. I have been freelancing as a graphic designer since I graduated.

Isabel es Malagueña y enamorada de mi Andalucía. Comienzo mis estudios en Sevilla: Técnico Superior de Artes Aplicadas al Muro; continúo en Valencia: Licenciada en Bellas Artes y Máster en Producción Artística. Viví un tiempo en Italia gracias a la Beca Leonardo Da Vinci, tras la cual volví a Málaga y obtener el Certificado de Aptitud Pedagógica; acto seguido desembarco en Dublín. Durante el periodo de mi formación he colaborado en Albiac: bienal de arte de Almería y Unesco, en India. He participado en concursos y exposiciones colectivas y asistido a numerosas conferencias relacionadas con el arte y el género.

Isabel is Malagueña and loved of my Andalucia. Beginning my studies in Sevilla: Superior Technical Mural Arts ; continued in Valencia: Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Artistic Production . I lived for a while in Italy by Leonardo Da Vinci Scholarship, after which I returned to Malaga and get the teaching certificate ; thereupon landing in Dublin. During the period of my training I worked voluntarily in organizations related to art ( Albiac : Biennial Art Almería) and social (Unesco, in India) , I participated in competitions and exhibitions I have attended numerous related conferences art and gender, have been a guide on the campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and library aide.

¿Por qué vinisteis a Dublín? / Why did you come to Dublin?

Marta: La búsqueda de oportunidades me trajo a Dublín el pasado verano, estando aquí me concedieron una beca para realizar prácticas en una organización cultural. Actualmente trabajo de camarera, realizo mis proyectos freelance y colaboro como diseñadora gráfica en una organización; además de estar inmersa en el proyecto ESpatriados que da sentido a toda esta búsqueda incesante y enlaza con mis motivaciones creativas.

Marta: Last summer I came to Dublin to look for new opportunities and I was awarded a grant to do an internship in a cultural organisation. I currently juggle my freelance projects with working as a waitress and studying English. I also collaborate as a graphic designer in a cultural events organisation and I am involved in ESpatriados, a project that gives meaning to my restless search and links with my creative motivation.

Isabel: Tras un periodo de quietud y vida “familiar” en Dublín (soy aupair), aparecen estímulos que de nuevo incitan a lo que me apasiona: reflexionar, escribir, pintar, investigar, organizar, estar en contacto con la gente y en definitiva, no parar. Apasionada por el mundo de la creatividad, la historia y la música me dedico a paliar mis inquietudes y continúo buscando mi lugar.

Isabel: After a period of stillness and life "family " in Dublin (I'm aupair ) , appearing stimuli again incite what I passion : to reflect , write, paint , research, organize , get in touch with people and ultimately not stop. Fascinated by the world of creativity , music history and dedicate myself to alleviate my concerns and continue looking for my place.

PRE-EXPOSICIÓN / PREVIEW

Ayer fue la fiesta de Feria De Abril, ¡lo pasamos genial!. Lo primero es agradeceros a todos los que vinisteis ayer a la Pre-exposición de ESpatriados en The Grand Social. No podíamos imaginar una mejor acogida. Tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer a más gente interesada en el proyecto y divertirnos. También hubo tiempo para la reflexión y darle un nuevo matiz al proyecto. Queremos dar más en nuestro trabajo, queremos que el trabajo pictórico os cuente mucho más de este proyecto. 

Gracias por todas las aportaciones que hacéis y os seguiremos informando de todo.

Yesterday was the Feria De Abril, amazing party! First off, we would like to thank everyone who attended ESpatriados Preview in The Grand Social yesterday. We couldn’t imagine a better host. We had the opportunity to meet more people interested in the project and we had fun. We also had time to reflect and give a new twist to the project. We wish give more in our work, we want the pictorical work tells you much more about the project.

Thanks for all the contributions that you do and we will keep you informed of everything.

+1000 VISITAS / VIEWS

A pesar de tener que rehacer el blog por segunda vez y haber perdido 793 visitas. Hoy ya hemos superado las mil visitas en sólo unas semanas y con muchas cosas aun por hacer en el blog. Por ello todo el equipo de ESpatriados quiere deciros gracias por vuestro seguimiento y colaboración.

Despite we have getting to redo the blog for the second time and we have lost 793 visits. Today we are already beyond a thousand views in just a few weeks and many things still to do on the blog. Therefore, ESpatriados team wants say thank you for your follow-up and collaboration.

The 27 th of April, there is going to be a tipical Andalucian Fair party, organized by “El Rincón Español” in "The Grand Social”. We are going to show a preview that will serve as a prelude to the final exhibition. There will be 10 of the 50 portraits that finally will exhibit on The Culture Box in June.
